The rumour mill is starting to spin. It may be imagination, wishful thinking and/or an hallucinatory psychotic episode. Then again there could be a grain of truth in it all. After the drubbing from Crewe something has to keep the flames (embers or just a small faintly warm spot) alive. Anyway the symptoms of the current dellusional state are:
Item 1: Martin Allen to be sacked this week. Wednesday or maybe Tuesday but not after the trip to Torquay for the FA cup tie as suggested in the Echo.
Item 2: Martin Allen was sacked once before last season but muscled his way back in with the assistance of a firm of solicitors to add to his muscle. This was the day John Finnigan & Alan Wright looked to be in charge of pre-match preparation..... if only.
Item 3: Steve Cotterill to take over as manager.
Item 4: Paul Baker to become honary President and Simon Keswick to return to the board and become its chairman...
Item 5: Cheltenham Town FC is up for sale.
I have almost forgotten those four goals and the terrible feeling of doom..... but not quite.
